Born and raised in Miami, Skott “Rage” Johnson began to set in motion the makings of his art in a city flourishing with inspiration, full of color and where vibrancy abounds.  At the young age of 14, he was commissioned for his first mural project.  Skott continued to focus on his dual passions of art and music, while at the same time pursuing higher education at The Miami Ad School.

Skott, along with a handful of other well-known artists from Miami and NYC, formed the Inkheads — an experimental street art collective inspired by the urban landscape they grew up in. Today, the world-renowned Inkheads are known for their raw talent, collaborative murals and painting projects, unconventional experimental exhibitions, and street art.

Skott has since developed an elaborate creative language through the art of design. Enlightened by his love of travel and influenced by the most trivial; the subtlety of color, texture of weathered walls, the unique form of a piece of driftwood, to the typography used on a sign from an old dilapidated gas station. From this creative palette, he founded his own freelance graphic design company, Inkhabit Design, in 2000. Skott's artistic passion has truly become his profession. Since then, independent and corporate clients alike have sought out his design expertise and unique images.

As a graphic designer, Skott relies on his knowledge and experience in a variety of art forms, including illustration, painting, mixed-media on canvas, aerosol art, large-scale murals, web design, digital photography, silk screening, stencil making, printmaking, typography, and custom font design.  He also looks to a wide range of sources for inspiration, including both vintage and contemporary prints, modern, post-modern and pop art, and album cover art from the 1970s.

Implementing insight, vision and originality he devises highly sophisticated, functional and aesthetically pleasing art forms, where the finished product is simultaneously smart and visually appealing.

Skott continues to tap into the energies and innovations of his youth, while evolving and leaving his mark as an individual and an artist working with clients worldwide through the progressive medium of technology. Skott currently resides in Brooklyn, N.Y.
